This morning (Sunday) being a long term biker, I was up early ish straight to the front door to look out at the weather before heading through to the garage to check the Suzuki over. This Sunday would be different however, no ride today, plans and promises had been made. Today was to be a family day.

Family days are great, but I had just got back into the swing of biking on a Sunday morning.

Over the course of the last three Sundays the Suzuki and I have enjoyed all that the Costa Blanca has to offer, from winding coastal roads with great views of the sea to tight twisty mountain roads and everything in between.

I have tasted the delicious English breakfasts in Benidorm and warmed my shivering hands with coffee at Vente Teresa, the well know cafe inland of San Juan.

Most of the time I have been shooting video for a forthcoming camera review and trying to get to grips with new mounting options. All good fun, unless your hands are cold.

Today we went to Albir to walk the path to the lighthouse, most of the way there in the car I was counting bikes, there were not as many as you would imagine, possibly due to the slightly less than inspiring sky. Or maybe they had been and gone it was 10:30 after all.

The walk from the car park to the lighthouse is on a concrete path with lookout points at regular intervals, not that they are really necessary as most of the route has stunning views of the sea. It is approximately a 5km round trip and will take most people around 1-1.5hrs to complete. The lighthouse was refurbished in 2011 and boasts a collection of pictures of the surrounding area but unfortunately no toilets or refreshments. It is well worth a look if you are in the area.

So do I regret not going biking I hear you ask? Not really, its good to have a balance and the weather turned crap anyway.
