Harley Davidson along with many other manufacturers fell on hard times over the last few years due to the worldwide economic downturn. A victim of this was the Buell brand which Harley had bought from Erik Buell in 2006. Now, after negotiations with Harley, Buell are back.
Under the Harley ownership the East Troy based manufacturer produced it's last motorcycle on the 30th October 2009 bringing to an end the 13 year and 136,923 bike production run.
Erik Buell went on to start a race bike company producing race only versions of the 1125r, now after negotiations between Buell and Harley Davidson, Harley have released Buell from the "no roadbikes" clause in the contract and Buell will once again begin producing road bikes.
Initially the bikes will be expensive special editions of their 1190r racer shown here, with production versions coming later.
